Sebastian x Reader Rain (Part Five)

For what seemed like hours, you tailed the man in front of you all around the manor, watching as he pointed out important details for you to memorize. Occasionally, you’d pull on the collar of the lacey dress or tug at the ribbons irritating your arms and legs. His red eyes would glance at you dangerously as you tried tearing the lacing around your waist off. You caught his glare and stopped. “Sorry…” You murmured. He turned his head and continued to walk, expecting you to follow. But you didn’t, you stood there staring at the back of his head. What’s wrong with him? He was so polite just the night before, and now all of a sudden he’s being a complete jerk. “Why are you being so cold?” You ask loudly.

He stops and turns on his heels. He had a smile plastered onto his face. “I apologize if I appear to be in a poor mood. Now, shall we continue our tour?” He turned around again and began to walk. You clenched your fist and stayed where you were. Why was he acting like that? And why was it irritating you so much? “Nice fake smile you’ve got there.” You say. You hear him sigh, but he keeps walking. “I do not deserve such praise, ____.” You growl deeply from your throat and stay put, anger crawling up inside you, beginning to burst through your seams.

“What’s wrong with you? Why is your stupid ‘master’ making me be a lowly servant?! Such a little kid shouldn’t be in charge of an entire estate! Speaking of which, this place is too huge! With its stupid curtains laced to perfection, its exquisite craftsmanship of the dumb furniture, its way too expensive paintings and bedroom decorations! And while we’re on the topic, this place has a foul aura surrounding it! Like this place is haunted or something evil lurks within its walls! Why are all you rich and stuck up nobles so loved? I don’t see why your pathetic master-!” Suddenly, there was a gloved hand pressed roughly against your mouth and another on your waist, pushing you up against the wall.

Your eyes were wide as you stared in his eyes. You began to tremble when his crimson orbs began to glow threateningly. His pupils were now slits, and his expression changed from a calm demeanor to one that made your skin crawl with fear. “I thought I sensed something foul about you. The way you smell makes my head ache. If I were you, I would watch my tongue. Simply stay quiet and obey your orders, otherwise face the consequences.”

You pried his hand from your mouth as tears filled your eyes. “I will not take orders from a noble! No more! They only care about themselves and they think they can do whatever they want to poor commoners, the lowly people who roam the streets looking for food and somewhere to sleep at night!” You couldn’t hold onto the sadness and memories that welled up within you anymore. “They trick innocent children into doing their dirty work! They don’t care about your feelings! Nothing but fear and embarrassment and anger comes from being around them for me! They’ll strip you of whatever dignity you had left and throw you to the bloodthirsty wolves!”

You hiccupped and then put your hands to your face, crying into them as Sebastian’s grip on your waist loosened. “I want them all… to just disappear… to die… I wish they would leave me alone… Pay for what they’ve done…” You sobbed quietly. Sebastian’s eyes widened at those words and something inside him clicked. This seemed way too familiar to him… His heart beat quickened at the thought. He stared at you in disbelief. How can a soul suddenly change its flavor? What was it about you that made a difference?
